NOW MY LIFE IS SWEET LIKE CINNAMON

RE:Reunion

NOW MY LIFE IS SWEET LIKE CINNAMON plays Chess
A continuation and variation of Reunion, a 1968 performance by John Cage, Lowell Cross and others.

A sensor-modified chess board and six electronic musicians and chess enthusiasts, connected through the moves they play.

As the game unfolds, the position of the pieces determine the paths that the musicians’ sound is traveling, giving them the opportunity to modulate and manipulate each other.

The ensemble’s instruments range from self-built analog-electronic sound machines to computer-based digital sound synthesis, electric guitars and electronic toy instruments.

Participating as musicians and chess players:

Moritz Wesp, Eric Haupt, Leonhard Huhn, Florian Zwissler, Christian Lorenzen, Victor Gelling, Lorenzen, Pedro Ramírez, Marcus Zilz

Detailed Information about the original piece can be found here.
